Turning 5 Months Old & More

Wow, Russell is growing!  He turned 5 months old on November 14th and now weighs 21 pounds 12 ounces.  He's smiling and talking alot, rolling over, sitting up, reaching for toys, and of course putting everything and anything into his mouth.  He also got his first tooth on Nov 12.  Russell is still easy going about our busy, on-the-go daily schedule.  He's always up for an outing as long as he is home in bed by 7:30pm - old man! :)  However, we have learned that there are two things he does get fired up about: 1) Eating - when he is hungry, he is hungry NOW (I have nursed in almost every parking lot in town, ha!); and 2) Me - simply put: I now understand the term "mama's boy".

Big sis Susannah had her first cold, which Russell caught and it led to his first double ear infection - no fun.  We spent alot of nights in the rocking chair together and we're slowly but surely getting through it.  He finished antibiotics on Thanksgiving and is feeling much better now.  Of course, today Susannah woke-up with another runny nose so we are bracing ourselves for round two...tis the season. (Is it April yet?!?)  Other than the sickness bug, we have all had a great month.  We went to Dallas where Michael and I got together with college friends and Russell and Susannah visited Mimi Jane & Pop.  We celebrated Russell's first Thanksgiving.  Russell visited the zoo for the first time and Susannah and I had a fun time at cooking class together.  Susannah and Russell get closer by the day....Susannah is so sweet with him - her loving personality just melts my heart.  She makes him laugh constantly, gives him toys, sings him lullabyes, talks to him in his crib and she helps me so much with diaper changes, bringing me things, and her big 'ol hugs.  What a sweetie pie! :)

Here's some of the action over the past few weeks:

Bath time and his new tooth!

Mimi Jane and her grandbabies

Our little chef!  She made cake pops (really, she ate more than she made!).  And don't mind the band-aid...there is no boo boo on her forehead, she just wanted her band aid there :)

Playing dress-up in Russell's hats

The view from my rocking chair - love my sweet girl!

Trick-or-Treating

There she goes!  She took off across our front yard to the neighbors house very quickly!

Excited to hand out candy

Just chattin' with friends...seriously, she walks around the house talking on this phone all the time.  Her conversations are hilarious

Zoo time - we went to see the baby tigers

So cute!  They were very curious

Big Mama

I think these two pictures capture family picture time perfectly.  We were about to take our Christmas pictures and Susannah's face says it all - children are so honest.

How about this one?
