Birthday celebrations! Susannah and Russell celebrated early with their classmates. Susannah chose strawberry cupcakes with pink icing and edible glitter. Russell chose chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with The Chronicles of Narnia cupcake rings (his favorite books and movies).
Susannah performed 101 Dalmatians with her MSPA group. She was Perdita the mommy dog. Way to go Susannah!

And the grandparents were all here! It was so special to have them in town for her show and we were able to hug our Mimi and Yaya on Mother's Day!!
The following week the group had a fun time performing at a local retirement home - this is such a fun group of kiddos and teachers that will be missed
It's Cat in the Hat time - Russell brought the Cat home for the weekend and he joined us for all sorts of adventures, we took pictures for the class journal then wrote a poem about all the fun.
Susannah made this "family tree" one night in my parents backyard when we were dining with the Lewallens. So cute, it just melted my heart!
My dad got a new car and the kids love it...as described so dearly below, ha! :)
Susannah learned all about Woody Guthrie this month in music class and the class went to the Woody Guthrie museum. She took me, Michael, and Russell to the museum the following Saturday. She was so excited to teach us all about him. It is a really neat museum with so much history. Also, there was a traveling Stevie Ray Vaughan exhibit. The kids had a great time playing the blues!
Russell's class visited the zoo. It was a really nice day together with the parents and kids that we will miss so much.
We had a wonderful dinner one night at the Moores. The kids had a great time putting together a "production" for us parents. There were animals - elephants, tigers, monkeys - and hunters, and heroes...it was an amazing original show! hehe
Russell is really into playing with weapons. He likes to play knights, police, cowboys, hunters, you name it. He wears one of my old elastic belts and "holsters" multiple weapons in it for the day. I just can't help but smile. His enthusiasm is adorable and his little imagination just runs wild! And he will be so happy to be together again with Michael. Russell misses him so much since we're living apart. He told me one night "I really miss Daddy because he is the BEST sword fighter in all the world."
Here he is with his new winchester rifle, which he and Michael were thrilled to find at the local western wear store. Hands up, partner!
Susannah set-up "horses" for them to ride. They're cowboys protecting their herds. Hers is named Buttercup and his is Fire Wheel. Yeehaw!

Pool time! The Lees opened their pool for class parties and the kids had the best time swimming with their dear friends, Sadie and Anna
Last day of 1st grade...what a wonderful year with a wonderful teacher. Susannah loved Mrs. DeLong and she learned so much. Cheers to another great year for both Susannah and Russell!
One last time on the Monte playground. This school has been so special to our family. We are so thankful for the community, education, loving christian environment, and fun memories Monte has given us.
One last dinner with our precious friends, the Moores. We love this crew so much.
