Happy 4th of July!
We went to my parents house for the 4th. Their neighborhood has a fun parade that the kids really enjoyed this year.

Susannah performed in a Cinderella camp. She was Driscella, the evil step-sister, and she was great. Her sarcasm and voice were hilarious. It was so much fun to watch her! And she loved practicing at home - she was very, very good at being bossy :)
Thumbs up to this guy! My little buddy, who goes EVERYWHERE with me, is hanging out under the dryer at the hair salon. He's such a rockstar, my rockstar!, and I'm so happy to have him along for the ride. Hugs and Kisses sweet Russell!!

Summer sleeping - swimming and sun until they crash...I find myself often rolling them back onto their beds before I go to bed at night, hehe....

We spent the end of July in beautiful Whitefish, Montana. It was so much to travel to my birthplace and spend time with our family. We stayed in this awesome house that backed up to the Viking Creek wildlife preserve with hiking trails and lots of animals to see. It was part of the Lodge at Whitefish Lake just across the street, so we also enjoyed all the lake and pool activities. So much fun!

Hungry Horse Dam
We spent a day at Glacier National Park.
Our first stop was Lake McDonald. We ate at Russell's, named after famous artist Charlie Russell. Our Russell was thrilled to see his name all over the building :)

We took a Red Bus tour on Going to the Sun Road. It was really neat to learn about park and to ride in one of the famous red buses. Russell was so excited that he slept the entire way up, haha!
Mountain Goats
Logan Pass, the highest point of the road at 6,647 feet. The views were spectacular! The entire drive was so beautiful. I can see why everyone falls in love with this place - Big Sky Country is amazing.
The men - and kids on the putting green - put in some serious golf time. Looking good guys!

We took fly fishing lessons. It was great fun but we didn't catch anything. There's always next time!
The kids were so excited to see the deer all around. Their faces showed pure joy, it was precious.

Yaya and Papa owned the local movie theater when they lived in Whitefish. The building is now retail and it's on the Historic Walking Tour in Whitefish.

We had an awesome day hiking, exploring, eating, picking huckleberries, riding the "luge" and the ski lifts.
My junior rangers with Ranger Megan. Russell had so many questions for Megan. We learned a lot on this tour and the kids got all sorts of "Junior Ranger" material. It was really cool.
My parents hired babysitters a couple nights so we could go out and enjoy the nightlife together. We really enjoyed this time...watching the sunsets (around 10pm!), hearing the nightly WF siren, and enjoying delicious dinners and drinks! And the kids were able to go to bed, which is good because we wore them out during the day, ha! Here we are enjoying a local roof top bar.
