Day #2 of our Family Vacation

Today we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific.  This place was awesome - we all loved it.  There were different aquariums representing seas from all over the world.  They also had a seal and sea lion show, lots of shark tanks, sting ray/shark petting tank, and an outdoor "ocean" playground for the kids to play on - and this was just for the day we were there.  There are continuous shows and activities throughout the week.  It is really a neat place and very educational.

Here we are petting the sting rays and sharks (don't worry - Jaws wasn't in there!).

Oh my goodness, it's Dori and Nemo!

That's a big sea lion swimming right by Susannah's right hand.  We saw a great seal and sea lion show and Susannah was able to go right up to the tank to see the animals up close and personal.

In this exhibit, divers dove with large fish and sharks and spoke to us about each one, depending on whichever one was swimming by them at the time.  It was so cool and the animals were beautiful.

Here's our captain on the outdoor "ocean" playground.  She's quite the navigator.  And I especially like the one pant leg rolled-up look - very "pirate-esque" :)

Let's just say Susannah could not get enough of Nemo!

We left the aquarium and walked along the Long Beach port to lunch.  We sat outside, next to the ocean, and enjoyed a great lunch in the sun.  This picture is right outside the aquarium.
