We packed up Rainbow (our car) and drove to Mississippi and then on down to Orange Beach, Alabama. We had a great time traveling together and visiting family.
Leland was our first stop. We stayed with Mimi Marcia and Uncle George. Here are the kiddos with Michael in front of Grandmother and Granddaddy's house. Beautiful!
We had a wonderful time at lunch with Grandmother. It was so nice to visit with her. Grandmother especially loved the kids' dance performance....alot of booty shakin'. Must get that from the Brown side! :)
Kermy! Of course we visited the Jim Henson museum and the kiddos loved it! It's such a cute place. We came home with a porcelin Miss Piggy that Russell loves to hold and kiss. Who came blame him?
Welcome baby Grace! We met sweet baby Grace and visited with proud parents, Bryan and Ansley. Grace is beautiful and so sweet and it was wonderful to see them all.
Mimi Marcia-in-training! Susannah and Russell gave Mimi Marcia a great crash course with kids, haha! We had so much fun together...obviously! Russell and Susannah are in love with their Mimi Marcia!
Vroom Vroom, here comes the fun! Russell and Susannah had a great time on George's bike. Russell even revved the engine! Now, whenever we see a motorcycle, they get so excited and ask "is that Uncle George?!!"
And this really did it for Russell. We could already tell that Russell was totally in awe of his Uncle George...the bike, the dog, the pool, the farm....and then he saw the tractors. Well it's official, Uncle George is now Russell's hero. Russell is still talking about the tractors. And I must say, they are awesome. I think Russell and I will be ready to drive one on our next visit.
Fast forward 2 months - this next picture was taken in September. Russell is still talking about his Uncle George, except for now he is referred to as "Farmer" George. During our visit George was up really early working, so he would come in when we were eating breakfast, always wearing a hat. Well, Russell found one of my hats and decided it looks just like his Farmer George's (no, it doesn't, but I don't argue with cuteness); therefore, he wears it around all the time, smiling as big as can be, and calling himself a farmer. Get ready Uncle George, in a few years we're sending Russell your way for summer employment! Our little Mississippi farmer....
Next stop was Orange Beach. We had a fun time seeing family, playing in the sand and swimming. Thanks for a fun trip Mimi Jane and Pop!
With all the excitement and vacay activities, this was the about all the action we witnessed in the backseat of Rainbow (and no, that's not marker on Russell's face, it's peanut m&m food coloring - road trip!). Our sweet little sleeping beauties....
