My baby girl turned 3 on June 21st. Her well-check went really well. She answered all the doctor's questions about colors and numbers and names. She then proceeded to just keep on talking about all types of things....very Susannah-like :) Dr. Albiek got a kick out of her outgoing personality and he told me that he was very impressed by her knowledge and communication skills. Yeah Susannah! It helps that she absolutely loves Dr. Albiek...she was all smiles with him!
Susannah is now 39 1/8 inches tall and weighs 33 lbs.
Some recent Susannah stories:
When Russell was born, Dr. Albiek heard a little girl talking away in the hospital hallway, he couldn't see her but his first thought was 'that must be Susannah Brown.' Well, he was definitely correct and he loved telling me that he identified her by her sweet voice and non-stop talking, ha!
Dr. Albiek told her that she is going to be tall, just like her mommy. Susannah turned to me with the biggest grin on her face and said with much excitement "Yeah! Mommy, you are beautiful! I'm going to look just like you!" Yep, my heart melted once again. I still smile just thinking about that precious moment.
Susannah and I were sitting at the kitchen table writing our thank you notes. She had her pen and stationary, began "writing" and she said outloud "Dear God, thank you for all my gifts." Susannah's exactly right: we are very thankful for our generous and loving friends and family, and for our precious Lord who blessed us with the gift of baby Russell!
Susannah is imitating me all the time. Examples - she'll pat me on my head and say "how are you doing sweetie pie?" And just now she put her blankie around Michael and said "It's ok, sometimes life can be frustrating. Blankie will help." I get a kick out of her "playing Mommy" :)
And for the big news....Susannah's potty trained! I was hoping she might wait a couple more months, but she decided that she didn't want to wear diapers anymore the week that we came home from the hospital with Russell. I was a little overwhelmed about starting the process right now with so much change already happening, but her doc had told us to wait until she said she was ready and then it would be easy - so we went with it. He was exactly right, Susannah transitioned easily out of diapers and hasn't looked back. She's really excited about the potty and wearing big girl panties - our baby's doing a great job. Here's a (hilarious!) picture of our proud big girl, who is now teaching her fairies how to go on the potty. Do you like the the "fairy potty" that we made for her? She's a great teacher, ha!
