A Celebration Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend. It started on Friday with Susannah at MDO and me doing nothing - that's right, nothing. For the first time in a long time, I took a couple hours to myself and it was fabulous. I was beyond thrilled to toss the "to-do" list to the side and go for a nice run followed by some pool lounging - it was the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

On Saturday, we had breakfast with Nat Nat Du (that's Natalie and Drew for those who don't speak Susannah, haha!) Nat cooked for us - delicious and very fun. Below is a picture of Susannah drinking from a kid-sized Starbucks cup. We visited the drive-thru and Susannah said "Susannah wants coffee!" The nice people at Starbucks gave Susannah her very own cup & lid. This little gift has been Susannah's joy for the past 4 days...who knew, right??

Saturday night we celebrated Mona and Samih's wedding, which from the post below you can see was a ton of fun.

Sunday: Happy Birthday Sophie! My sweet Sophie dog turned 5 and Susannah could not wait to give her a big birthday hug (this hug was followed by "Where's the cake?") Susannah grows more attached to Sophie by the day. And I have observed that the feeling must be mutual because Sophie pretty much follows her anywhere. It's really sweet.

It rained all day on the 4th so we didn't do much outside; however, it made for a great "lazy Sunday." We had our first family movie night with Susannah. We watched Toy Story 2 and Susannah loved it. She was too cute sitting in her "Susannah" anywhere chair with popcorn and a sippy cup.

Monday we celebrated the 4th of July a day late by having some fun at the pool. Michael took the day off (yea!) and we swam and enjoyed lunch together.

So, do you think Susannah likes french fries & hamburgers?

Just in case you aren't sure if she does or not, this picture should clarify.....

"Ta-da" All finished!

Monday night we went to my parents house for dinner. Susannah always has fun outside with the dogs.

And Happy 4th of July!!

Oh yea...I snuck the birthday girl a little bite of cake :)

What a fun weekend! I love my family.
