Beach Vacation

We vacationed in St. Simons Georgia last week....

Our dancing beach baby

Run Daddy & Susannah, run!

Susannah kept saying "sand in my toes!"

We travel in style :)

The view from our balcony

Biking around the island was so much fun for our family. Susannah absolutely loved it! She would pat my back and say "go faster Mommy!" or "be careful!"

I caught one! That's my sweet Susannah caught by the crab net. Don't feel too sorry for her though, she's about to sit on poor cousin Jack! The kids had the best time playing together.

We had some unexpected detours on our travels home. However, our precious Susannah kept the morale up by providing non-stop entertainment and smiles. Here she is at breakfast one morning. I called her Jane Fonda.

And here she is at dinner, wearing a washcloth on her head. It was brought to Michael b/c he ordered ribs, but Susannah thought it was much more fun to have it on her head. We were all laughing so hard!

Top 5 Reasons our vacation was awesome:

1) Family, Family, Family: we were able to spend an entire week with family from Mississippi, Texas, and Colorado. It was really special to all be together. As a mom, it is pure joy to watch Susannah develop relationships with family members. I can see the sparkle in her eyes as she talks and plays with her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. God is definitely at work here.

2) Date night - yea, that's right...Michael and I snuck in a few meals together and we even saw a movie. It was wonderful!

3) Bike riding with Susannah for the first time = FUN

4) Susannah is an amazing traveler. Seriously. She was a joy throughout the vacation - meals, playing, beach time, the pool, bike riding, shopping - Susannah makes it all even more fun. On the plane ride to Georgia she was happy as can be. And traveling back to OKC, she was the best trooper ever. We were stuck on a plane for 9 hours on Sunday and she either played, watched TV, or slept. She is an angel.

5) The post-vacation exhaustion. Since Susannah never falls asleep in my arms anymore, it has been a treat that she's slept in my arms each day since being home. I'm loving each second of this snuggle time....rocking chair time is the best :)
