Praying for your Child(ren)

As a new mom, I am joyfully thankful for this amazing blessing that God has given us. Susannah is truly to most wonderful thing in our life and each day I thank God for her. I have so many emotions that involve her well-being, of course. At times, it can seem overwhelming because I want so much for her now and for her future. I feel like my prayers could go on 24/7 and sometimes it's hard to even know where to begin praying. A friend shared the following with me and it spoke directly to me as a prayer guide for praying for Susannah -- and to remember what is most important. I want to share it with you, so hopefully you can use it too.

1. That they will know Christ as Savior early in life. (Psalm 6:3 and 2 Timothy 3:15)

2. That they will be protected from the evil one in each area of their lives...spiritual, emotional and physical. (John 12:15)

3. That they will have a responsible attitude in all their interpersonal relationships.(Daniel 6:3)

4. That they will respect those in authority over them. (Romans 13:1)

5. That they will desire the right kinds of friends and be protected from the wrong friends. (Proverbs 1:10-11)

6. That they will be kept from the wrong mate and saved for the right one. (2 Corinthians 6:14-17)

7. That they will learn to totally submit to God and actively resist Satan in all circumstances. (James 4:7)

8. That they will be single-hearted, willing to be sold out to Jesus Christ. (Romans 12: 1-2 )

9. That they will be hedged in so they cannot find their way to wrong people or
that the wrong people cannot find their way to them. (Hosea 2:6)

10. Lastly, but very important, that they will have a hunger to know God and His Word!
